At Moorthorpe Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is valued, included and empowered to achieve their full potential. We proudly host an Inclusion Resource and SEND Unit and work in partnership to provide a welcoming, nurturing and highly supportive environment for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Both provisions are managed and led by the Wakefield Inclusion Service with dedicated specialist staff. Staff work closely with pupils, families and external professionals to understand each child's individual strengths, needs and aspirations. The school and provisions promote positive relationships, celebrate difference and ensure that all pupils have opportunities to learn, develop and thrive within an inclusive and respectful school environment.
At Moorthorpe, inclusion means recognising that every child is unique and ensuring that each pupil is given the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to succeed.
